FAQ
Workshop – General Questions
How do I sign up for courses?
Please go to Workshops to see the available courses and click the sign up button under each description.
How much are your courses?
You will find the prices of our courses above each course description.Â
Do you have one-off workshops?
We currently do not have one-off workshops, as we focus mainly on teaching students pottery techniques from start to end, such as wedging, throwing, trimming and glazing.
However, you may email us with your request.
What course should I take if I am a complete beginner?
Pottery usually begins with hand-building so for absolute beginners we will recommend hand-building before getting to wheel-throwing. Handbuilding allows you to get acquainted with clay and its properties. It is also an important foundation to have so you can complement your pieces on the wheel later on as well.
However, some students learn faster on the wheel, so we would say it's really specific to the student.
What if I have signed up and can’t make it for the classes?
As we only offer structured courses that have been planned weeks through specialised experience, we ask for your commitment after signing up as there are strictly no refunds or exchanges for credits.
Can I sign up for Ves Clay Club: Studio Access if I was not a student?
Yes, you can. However as our studio operates on an independent, self-directed basis, we welcome members who already have a solid foundation in pottery. VCC membership is best suited for those confident in working without guided instruction.
Priority will be given to students who have previously completed our courses at Ves. Please note that membership applications are assessed based on your pottery experience and understanding.
Can I park at the studio for class?
There are no parking lots at the studio. Please kindly park in the nearby public parking space along the streets.
Collection of class pieces?
Collection of pieces are available one month after your glazing class. If the pieces are left with us more than 3 months after the glazing class, we reserve the right to dispose of them. Unsigned works will not be fired in the studio. We will also not be responsible for missing pieces, so do make sure to sign your works clearly as we have had disappointments of other students taking another's piece by mistake.
