7-week Advanced I Wheelthrowing
In this course you will be learning how to throw on the hump, where pieces are made on the same lump of clay.
At every throwing class (1st, 3rd, 5th class) you will be dealing with 1.5kg of clay, and to aim to throw pieces off the hump. A revision of making sets as taught in Intermediate class will be made.
During trimming class (2nd, 4th, 6th class) you will be trimming your pieces and learning to refine your trimming skills with smaller pieces as well
On the 4th to 6th class we will be focusing on throwing lidded vessels, and the main focus is to learn how to throw lids and matching bodies and to get them to fit.
As this course focuses on the technique and process, any pieces deemed poorly made will not be fired. All pieces must be signed otherwise it will not be fired as well.
The cost of this course includes clay, use of wheel and equipment, materials for decorating and glazing, and firing. This course will take in a maximum of 8 students to provide maximum guidance.
Class Pre-requisite: Must have taken both Intermediate courses at ves.studio and/or at least 30-40 classes with complete confidence in centering and dealing with at least 1-1.5kg of clay
